Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) safely and efficiently on assigned routes throughout the Milwaukee area and Midwest region.
- Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and identify potential mechanical issues.
- Cargo Handling: Load, secure, and unload cargo with precision, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to safety protocols to prevent damage.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records, delivery receipts, and bills of lading with 100% accuracy.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and hazmat/tanker regulations (if applicable).
- Communication: Maintain clear and constant communication with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding delivery status and any route deviations.
- Professionalism: Keep the truck cabin and cargo area clean, organized, and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
- Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required. Clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Medical: Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Schedule: Must be available to work night shifts (typically 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) on a consistent basis.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Background: Ability to pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
- Skills: Strong time management skills, ability to work independently, and basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor issues.
- Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform manual tasks related to cargo handling.
