Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers to deliver freight to designated locations in and around Kansas City.
- Pre-Trip & Post-Trip Inspections: Perform thorough inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is roadworthy and secure before and after each shift.
- Load Securement: Properly secure cargo using straps, chains, and bars to prevent damage or accidents.
- Documentation: Accurately complete daily logs (DVIR), bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with shippers and receivers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Maintenance: Report any mechanical issues to the maintenance department promptly.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A License: Must be held and in good standing.
- Driving Record: Clean driving abstract with no more than two moving violations in the last three years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of recent Class A driving experience.
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work night shifts (e.g., 10:00 PM - 7:00 AM).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and pass a DOT physical examination.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and ability to use a radio/intercom.
