Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for nighttime freight transport across San Jose metro area
- Execute precise loading/unloading operations with minimal supervision in warehouse environments
- Maintain meticulous electronic logs (ELD) and DOT compliance documentation
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and report vehicle maintenance needs
- Coordinate with dispatch team for real-time route adjustments and delivery confirmations
- Ensure temperature-controlled cargo integrity for specialized freight
- Uphold strict safety protocols in low-visibility nighttime conditions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of California highway regulations and San Jose metro routes
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (including hair follicle test)
- Experience with reefers and flatbed trailers preferred
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Basic tech literacy for ELD systems and route navigation apps
