Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) on overnight routes throughout NYC and surrounding areas
- Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and documentation
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records
- Communicate with dispatch team regarding route conditions and delivery status
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules while prioritizing safety
- Complete post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reports
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with NYC traffic patterns and delivery restrictions
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and hazmat awareness (preferred)
