Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B) for cross-city and regional routes during overnight shifts
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations and company safety protocols at all times
- Coordinate with dispatchers to optimize delivery schedules and troubleshoot route challenges
- Load/unload freight using appropriate equipment while maintaining cargo security
- Complete electronic logging system (ELD) documentation and delivery paperwork
- Represent Swift Transport with professionalism in all client interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with ELD systems and route navigation technology
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts (11 PM - 7 AM) weekends/holidays
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting knowledge preferred
