Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL required) during overnight hours
- Transport freight between Michigan and Texas with strict adherence to DOT regulations
- Complete pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate electronic logs
- Collaborate with dispatch to optimize routes and delivery timelines
- Ensure secure loading/unloading of diverse cargo types
- Implement defensive driving techniques in all weather conditions
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to work flexible overnight shifts (typically 8 PM - 6 AM)
- Pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
- Familiarity with Michigan/Texas route corridors
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to safety and compliance protocols
