Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated) during overnight hours (8 PM - 6 AM)
- Perform pre-trip inspections and routine vehicle maintenance checks
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology while navigating urban and rural areas
- Accurately document delivery paperwork and maintain electronic logs
- Communicate proactively with dispatch, clients, and warehouse teams
- Handle hazardous materials shipments with proper certification (HAZMAT a plus)
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of Ohio roadways and DOT regulations
- Pass background check and drug screening
- HAZMAT certification preferred
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
