Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van and reefers) following DOT regulations
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery deadlines
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections documenting vehicle conditions
- Load/unload freight with proper securing techniques
- Maintain accurate delivery records and electronic logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Adhere to all safety protocols and defensive driving practices
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Hazmat endorsement (required) and tanker endorsement (preferred)
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility for overnight trips and weekends as needed
- Proficient in using ELD systems and mobile communication tools
