Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A or Class B vehicles throughout the San Diego metropolitan area and surrounding regions.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently using dock equipment and manual handling as needed.
- Maintain accurate records using electronic logging devices (ELD) and daily logs.
- Adhere strictly to all DOT regulations, company policies, and traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members to ensure smooth operations.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B required.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) on file.
- Clear driving record with no major violations within the last 3-5 years.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of San Diego roadways, traffic patterns, and geography.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.
