Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Commercial Vehicles: Drive Class A trucks in a safe, legal, and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Manage Freight: Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring all freight is delivered on time and in excellent condition.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD), delivery receipts, and all required daily paperwork to ensure compliance with DOT standards.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify mechanical issues and ensure the vehicle is road-ready.
- Route Management: Follow assigned routes and schedules efficiently to meet delivery deadlines.
- Customer Interaction: Represent Pilot Logistics Group professionally while interacting with customers at delivery locations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL: Must hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) with the proper endorsements.
- Clean Driving Record: A current MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with no more than two (2) moving violations in the past three (3) years.
- DOT Medical Card: Possession of a current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical card is mandatory.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of verifiable commercial driving experience is preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 50 lbs and pass a DOT physical examination.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal communication skills and proficiency with radio communication devices.
