Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and vans in strict accordance with all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and mechanical condition of the vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and security.
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and maintain accurate delivery logs (DVIR).
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding pickup and delivery times.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety and defensive driving techniques at all times.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the truck and company equipment.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Willingness to undergo a background check.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to traffic laws.
- Basic math skills for calculating loads and reading maps.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
