Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and delivery vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company protocols.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition.
- Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and Hours of Service (HOS) logs in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members to ensure timely deliveries and address any route changes.
- Represent Apex Logistics professionally at every customer interaction, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B CDL license (Class A preferred for long-haul, Class B for local delivery).
- A Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious traffic violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Willingness to undergo company-sponsored training for entry-level drivers.
- Basic knowledge of GPS navigation systems and route planning software.
