Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial tractor-trailers over assigned routes in the New Orleans area and beyond.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring weight distribution and safety protocols.
- Prepare daily delivery logs and maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no DUIs/Moving violations).
- Must possess a current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT physical).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual tasks in various weather conditions.
- Strong understanding of cargo securement and hazardous materials handling if applicable.
