Job Overview
We are seeking reliable and safety-conscious drivers to operate our fleet of modern trucks. Whether you are a rookie looking for your first break or an experienced driver looking for a better opportunity, Apex Logistics offers the support you need to succeed.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date logbooks, electronic logging devices (ELD), and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Practice defensive driving techniques to minimize risk and ensure the safety of passengers and cargo.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and presentable at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B (or currently enrolled in a training program).
- A clean driving record with no major traffic violations within the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues on the road.
- Willingness to undergo additional training if hired without prior commercial driving experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
