Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and delivery vehicles on designated routes throughout the Oakland area and surrounding regions.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and identify maintenance needs.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo protection.
- Maintain accurate records using electronic logging devices (ELD) and manage all delivery paperwork efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding schedules and delivery issues.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional driving experience in a commercial environment.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and pass a drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of cargo securement procedures and traffic laws.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for conducting routine vehicle checks.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
