Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (Class A or B) in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging device (ELD) records and driver's logs.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring freight safety and maintaining a clean truck cab.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure the safety of yourself and the public.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times, routes, and any delays.
- Handle customer service interactions professionally at delivery and pickup locations.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the appropriate endorsements (Hazmat preferred).
- Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience (1 year for Class A with Hazmat).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong understanding of DOT Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and cargo securement procedures.
- Ability to lift and carry cargo weighing up to 50 pounds and work in various weather conditions.
- Professional communication skills and a customer-service oriented mindset.
