Responsibilities
- Safely Operate Vehicles: Operate commercial trucks and trailers in a safe, legal, and professional manner across the state of Virginia.
- Vehicle Inspection: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in optimal condition and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Cargo Handling: Secure cargo properly and ensure delivery of goods in a timely and damage-free condition.
- Route Planning: Adhere to assigned delivery schedules and navigate efficiently to meet deadlines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and complete all necessary delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Possess a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with the appropriate endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples preferred but not always required).
- Clean Driving Record: Must have a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of professional driving experience (Local or OTR).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and pass a DOT physical examination.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with dispatch and customers.
