Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely and efficiently operate Class A or Class B trucks on regional and local routes, including deliveries to Baltimore, MD and throughout Ohio.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the truck is in safe operating condition and document any issues immediately.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo securely using proper equipment, ensuring safety and preventing damage.
- Compliance: Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and adhere strictly to all DOT regulations and company policies.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and dispatch teams, providing updates on delivery status and resolving any issues that arise during transit.
- Documentation: Complete all necessary delivery paperwork, bills of lading, and inspection reports accurately and on time.
- Route Planning: Follow designated routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and minimize fuel consumption.
Qualifications
- CDL License: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements (Tanker, Hazmat, Doubles/Triples preferred but not always required).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience (Class A) or 1 year for Class B.
- Medical Certification: Current and valid DOT Medical Card.
- Driving Record: Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations (e.g., DUI, reckless driving) in the last 3 years.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a post-offer background check and drug screen.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a dispatch team.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, twist, and stand for extended periods during loading and unloading.
