Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers and straight trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and documentation accuracy.
- Maintain accurate logs (Driver's Daily Log) and electronic logging devices (ELD) in strict compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Uphold a high standard of safety and professionalism at all times while on the road.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the required endorsements.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (DOT Physical) and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience in a commercial setting.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for performing routine vehicle checks and minor maintenance.
