Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety and security of the cargo and vehicle.
- Load and unload freight safely using proper equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.) while minimizing damage.
- Maintain accurate logs (DOT/HOS) and complete necessary paperwork in a timely and organized fashion.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and any issues encountered during transit.
- Uphold a professional image and maintain a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B required.
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo handling procedures.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Basic math skills for making change and reading maps.
