Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, verifying weight and securing loads according to safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary paperwork.
- Adhere to all DOT regulations, traffic laws, and company safety policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and organized at all times.
- Handle customer interactions professionally and resolve any delivery issues efficiently.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Current DOT medical card and DOT drug screening certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience (preferred).
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a background check and a motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
- Strong knowledge of New York traffic laws and local delivery routes.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
