Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A vehicles to transport freight to designated delivery points within the Miami metropolitan area.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including electronic logging devices (ELD), delivery receipts, and vehicle condition reports.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo protection.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve delivery issues and confirm schedules.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures at all times.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required; Hazmat or Tanker endorsements a plus but not mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of Florida roadways and traffic regulations.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict delivery deadlines.
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading duties and sit for extended periods.
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
