Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) safely and efficiently to deliver freight to designated locations in the Los Angeles area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper handling of goods to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, traffic patterns, and safety protocols to minimize risk.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Keep the truck clean and organized, including the cab and cargo area.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial setting.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and mechanical issues.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends if necessary.
