Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently on local and regional routes within the Kansas City metro area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Load and unload cargo accurately, adhering to safety protocols to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required documentation (bills of lading, delivery receipts).
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and route changes.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience (hazmat or tanker preferred but not required).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no preventable accidents or major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
