Responsibilities
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles for regional and long-haul routes across Illinois and Midwest
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate maintenance logs
- Ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations and company safety protocols
- Deliver freight on time while optimizing fuel efficiency and route planning
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse teams
- Document delivery receipts and handle any shipment discrepancies
- Maintain clean driving record and adhere to HOS regulations
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) and transportation management systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and hazmat procedures preferred
