Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (dry van and reefers) for regional routes within Louisiana and surrounding states
- Ensure timely delivery of perishable and general freight while maintaining strict temperature control
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to DOT regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and company safety protocols
- Utilize GPS systems for route optimization and real-time communication with dispatch
- Collaborate with warehouse teams for efficient loading/unloading operations
- Document delivery receipts and resolve customer inquiries professionally
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- TWIC card required for port access
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Knowledge of Louisiana DOT regulations and local route geography
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
