Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers safely and efficiently to deliver cargo on time.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, utilizing proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (ELD) and all required shipping and receiving paperwork.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading and unloading interactions.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes, delays, and delivery updates.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screen.
- Current Medical Card (DOT).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience.
- Forklift certification is a plus but not required.
- Strong knowledge of Houston, TX area roads and logistics hubs.
