Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B CDL) to transport freight on designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Efficiently load/unload cargo using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Deliver time-sensitive shipments while maintaining excellent customer relations
- Document delivery status and handle exceptions professionally
- Participate in ongoing safety training and process improvements
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Houston metro area navigation systems
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility for regional overnight trips (25% of time)
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging and reporting
- HAZMAT endorsement preferred but not required
