Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to customers while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any mechanical issues.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary delivery documentation.
- Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring it is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding route changes and delivery status.
- Uphold a high standard of cleanliness for both the vehicle and personal appearance.
Qualifications
- License: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or the ability to obtain one immediately.
- Experience: No prior driving experience required; candidates must be willing to undergo our training program.
- Record: Clean driving record and the ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Physical: Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 lbs, sitting for extended periods, and good hand-eye coordination.
- Documentation: Valid DOT medical card and current vehicle registration.
- Skills: Strong reading comprehension skills for maps and GPS systems; basic math skills for handling freight.
- Attitude: Professionalism, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety and customer service.
