Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed) following DOT regulations
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation and real-time traffic updates
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and document vehicle maintenance needs
- Load/unload freight with proper securing techniques and weight distribution
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic records (ELD compliance)
- Communicate with dispatchers and customers regarding shipment status
- Adhere to strict delivery timelines and handle exceptions professionally
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with HOS regulations and electronic logging devices
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Willingness to travel overnight and work flexible schedules
