Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods across Illinois and regional routes
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate electronic logs
- Plan efficient delivery routes while adhering to DOT regulations and time constraints
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, clients, and warehouse personnel
- Load/unload freight with proper equipment and safety protocols
- Document delivery status and resolve any shipment discrepancies
- Participate in ongoing safety training and compliance programs
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Pass DOT physical, background check, and drug screening
- Proficiency in electronic logging devices (ELD) and route planning tools
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility for occasional overnight trips and weekend shifts
- Basic mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
