Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (53' dry van or refrigerated trailers) on multi-state routes
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and company safety protocols
- Accurately maintain electronic logs, delivery records, and pre/post-trip inspections
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading/unloading operations
- Manage timely deliveries while optimizing fuel efficiency and route performance
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding shipment status
- Participate in ongoing safety training and equipment certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 1 year tractor-trailer experience OR graduation from Swift's paid training program
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations and industry best practices
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility for overnight stays and variable schedule demands
- Basic computer skills for ELD systems and communication tools
- Willingness to travel across Illinois and Texas routes
