Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand jacks, ensuring weight distribution is secure and accurate.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and logbooks, ensuring compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) rules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Uphold a professional appearance and demeanor while representing the company at pickup and delivery locations.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience in a commercial trucking environment.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, safety procedures, and cargo handling techniques.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting purposes.
