Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for regional routes within Illinois and neighboring states
- Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic records (ELD)
- Handle hazardous materials (Hazmat) shipments with proper certification
- Collaborate with dispatch team to optimize route efficiency and delivery timelines
- Provide exceptional customer service during loading/unloading operations
- Participate in ongoing safety training and performance reviews
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Hazmat endorsement required or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in varying weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Excellent time management and route navigation skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Must reside within 50 miles of Chicago metro area
