Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for local and regional freight transport
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload cargo with proper equipment and securement techniques
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Manage delivery schedules with GPS navigation and route optimization
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Complete electronic logs (ELD) and necessary paperwork accurately
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with Virginia Beach metro area and regional routes
- Strong time management and customer service skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings
