Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) to transport freight across designated routes
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections ensuring compliance with DOT regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logging system records
- Load/unload freight using proper techniques and equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts)
- Adapt to changing delivery schedules and communicate effectively with dispatch
- Adhere to all safety protocols and defensive driving standards
- Represent Desert Star Transport professionally with clients and communities
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (including random testing)
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) and transportation regulations
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong navigation skills and route optimization awareness
- Excellent time management and communication abilities
- Flexibility to work weekends/holidays as needed
