Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight across NYC metropolitan area
- Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Plan efficient routes while accounting for traffic conditions and delivery deadlines
- Complete accurate delivery documentation and maintain electronic logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients regarding shipment status
- Represent Metro Freight Logistics with professionalism in all client interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with NYC traffic patterns and delivery restrictions
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures
- Basic electronic logging device (ELD) proficiency
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Flexibility to work variable shifts including early mornings and weekends
