Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport goods on dedicated routes
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs
- Adhere to FMCSA regulations and company safety protocols
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Perform minor maintenance checks and report mechanical issues
- Navigate efficiently through Chicago metropolitan area traffic
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Strong knowledge of Chicago-area geography and regulations
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds repeatedly
- Flexibility for overnight trips and weekend shifts
- Proof of citizenship or legal work authorization
