Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for local/regional deliveries
- Maintain strict adherence to DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Perform thorough pre-trip/post-trip inspections and vehicle maintenance checks
- Plan efficient routes using GPS navigation systems to meet tight delivery schedules
- Document delivery paperwork accurately and maintain electronic logs
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, clients, and warehouse teams
- Handle specialized freight requiring temperature control or hazardous materials endorsement
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with clean MVR (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong knowledge of Austin/Texas roadways and traffic patterns
- DOT medical certification and current Hazmat endorsement preferred
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD) and fleet management software
- Flexibility for early start times and occasional overnight routes
