Responsibilities
- Operate commercial tractor-trailer vehicles safely and efficiently over long distances.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads.
- Maintain accurate logs and records, including electronic logging device (ELD) compliance.
- Navigate complex routes and traffic patterns while adhering to all traffic laws.
- Interact professionally with customers and dispatch regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no recent major violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement procedures.
- Must be at least 21 years of age to operate interstate.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform minor vehicle repairs if necessary.
