Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight to designated delivery points.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo accurately, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations ( DUI, reckless driving, etc.) in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of local and interstate roadways in Michigan and surrounding areas.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
