Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial vehicles in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Inspections: Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure equipment is road-ready and compliant with DOT regulations.
- Cargo Handling: Secure and load cargo safely, ensuring proper weight distribution and timely delivery to designated locations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs (ELD), delivery receipts, and all necessary paperwork in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and clients at delivery points, representing the Apex Logistics brand with integrity.
- Maintenance: Report mechanical issues immediately and assist in keeping the cab and trailer clean and organized.
Qualifications
- CDL License: Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License with a clean driving record (no more than 3 points).
- Medical Certification: Current DOT medical card or ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience (local or regional preferred).
- Equipment: Proven experience operating flatbeds, dry vans, or box trucks.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and use GPS technology.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including MVR and criminal history.
