Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B CDL) to transport goods throughout Washington DC metro area
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations, safety protocols, and delivery schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Coordinate with dispatch teams for efficient route planning and timely deliveries
- Load/unload freight securely and verify shipment documentation
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Utilize electronic logging systems (ELD) for compliance tracking
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Knowledge of Washington DC traffic regulations and metro area geography
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Experience with freight types (dry van, refrigerated, or flatbed preferred)
- Smartphone proficiency for daily reporting and communication
