Responsibilities
- Safe operation of Class A commercial vehicles for local/regional routes in Washington DC metropolitan area
- Timely delivery of freight to government agencies, commercial clients, and distribution centers
- Pre-trip inspections and maintenance documentation compliance
- Electronic logging device (ELD) usage and Hours of Service (HOS) adherence
- Customer service interactions at delivery points
- Route optimization and real-time traffic navigation
- Cargo securement and load verification procedures
- Daily vehicle cleaning and basic maintenance checks
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Knowledge of Washington DC traffic regulations and delivery zones
- Ability to obtain Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Basic GPS navigation proficiency
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
