Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A or Class B vehicles in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policies.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring all freight is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and complete all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Navigate Long Beach and surrounding areas efficiently to meet strict delivery schedules.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding shipment status and delays.
- Uphold a professional image and safety standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or Class B license with the required endorsements (e.g., Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples).
- A clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience preferred.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong time management skills and ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required by the schedule.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
