Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or Class B) in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and documentation.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding schedules and deliveries.
- Practice defensive driving techniques to ensure the safety of cargo, employees, and the public.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements (Hazmat or Tanker preferred but not required).
- A current DOT Medical Card (or ability to obtain one).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Strong time management skills and a commitment to punctuality.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
