Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) to deliver cargo to various commercial and residential locations within the New York metro area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and vehicle readiness.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery logs in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload freight securely, ensuring cargo is protected from damage during transit.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company driving policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to resolve delivery issues and confirm receipt of goods.
- Conduct regular vehicle cleanliness checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid New York State CDL Class A or Class B (Commercial Driver's License) with the proper endorsements.
- Current, valid DOT Medical Card (Medical Examiner's Certificate).
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional driving experience (Preferred).
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.
