Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport freight on established routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records
- Adhere to DOT regulations and ensure compliance with all safety protocols
- Load/unload cargo efficiently and verify shipment documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team regarding delivery status and delays
- Manage time-sensitive deliveries while maintaining on-time performance
- Provide excellent customer service at delivery points
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent tractor-trailer experience
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with North Carolina roadways and regional geography
- Basic knowledge of freight handling and securement techniques
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and overnight trips
