Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) safely and efficiently on local and regional routes.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklift, pallet jack, or manual methods) ensuring safety standards are met.
- Complete all required pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle mechanical fitness and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs (DOT/ELD) and adhere to all Hours of Service regulations.
- Foster a safety-first culture by identifying and reporting potential hazards or vehicle issues immediately.
- Provide exceptional customer service to shippers and receivers, maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized to meet company and DOT standards.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B with the required endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) and DOT drug screen clearance.
- Excellent driving record with no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Strong ability to read and comprehend maps, delivery routes, and traffic regulations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks associated with cargo handling.
- Reliable personal vehicle for local commuting (if applicable).
