Key Responsibilities
As a CDL Driver for Metro Logistics, your primary focus will be the safe and timely delivery of goods across the Chicago metropolitan area.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks (Class A or B) safely and efficiently on local routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Interact professionally with customers and warehouse personnel at delivery locations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional demeanor.
- Basic math skills for change making and fuel calculations.
- Willingness to undergo paid training programs if no prior CDL experience exists.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
